“Backstage at the Ballet” is a monthly series of informal conversations with Webb  and special guests intended to provide a “behind the scenes” look at the workings of the company, its dancers and its choreography. The subject for this week’s session is the upcoming “Great Masters” program next weekend. in which the ballet will perform George Balanchine’s “Diamonds” and Sir Frederick Ashton’s “The Two Pigeons.”

Sara Sardelli

The two guests will be the company’s only first soloists, Sara Sardelli and Logan Learned, perenniel audience favorites who are often paired in the company’s performances. The three will discuss the famous Ashton ballet, which was added to the repertoire in Webb’s first season with the company, in 2007.

Tickets are $20 and can be obtained by calling 359-0099, ext. 101 or going to www.sarasotaballet.org.
