Bettes, a student of Peter Stark at the Patel Conservatory for the Performing Arts and a member of the Next Generation Dance company, was invited to attend the competition along with other top-tier pre-professionals from around the world. She was topped only by Sugai Modoka from Japan, who placed first both in the “Bourse” (Scholarship) category and in the contemporary dance category.

Bettes is eligible to receive a full-ride scholarship, plus a stipend, at any of the top 30 ballet schools in the world. Bettes recently placed second at the Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals competition in Tampa and will go on to the finals, the world’s largest competition, in New York City in April.
