‘Comedy circus’ coming to Home Resource

Circus Sarasota has its big top tent, but Zan Aufderheide is using a more intimate setting for her one-woman comedy circus that she calls “Welcome to Zanland.” Aufderheide studied stand-up at McCurdy’s Comedy Club in Sarasota that led her on an 18-month national tour.

Now she’s bringing her act back to where it all started for a one-night performance at Home Resource, 741 Central Ave., Sarasota at 8 p.m. Feb. 9. “It’s my nest,” she said of Sarasota. “It’s where my stand-up career started to crack out of its shell and then it kicked me out of the nest and gave me the chance to spread my wings.”

She said she likes to focus on spur-of-the-

moment humor, commenting on things that are happening in life and the world when she’s performing.

Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. For more information: 587-2777; bit.ly/ww8Amn.
